Story Excerpt | House of God

H i folks! Please enjoy this excerpt from my newest short story ✨️ if you'd like to read an even longer excerpt, click here ✨️✨️ CW: religion, Catholicism, demons, the bible . . . . . It was raining the Sunday we came back to church. I trailed up the glossy, wet marble steps that led to the multi-doored entrance, my parents walking just ahead of me with their heads bowed as we ushered past other churchgoers who had also arrived. On the ride over, I’d been expecting laughter, music to be playing from the organ upstairs as people took their seats and greeted one another after nearly five months away. But I was met by a wall of silent parishioners, each curled into their heavy raincoats as something dark and dim now coiled within the high rafters of the church. We went through the motions, kneeling, singing, repeating “Amen” and mouthing through I confess. The psalms felt hollow and no one looked at one another the entire mass. But more than anything else, I watched the sunken cheekb...

✨️❗️NEW NOVEL EXCERPT❗️✨️

Hi everyone! Welcome to novel sneak peak night! I've posted a lot about Dog Down , but I figured tonight, I'd post a little bit about my second novel WIP, (working title) ASTRO . Please enjoy this excerpt from chapter 2 <3 CW: blood, mentions of guns . . . . . The walk along the riverbank was dreadful. Susana had her moist coat wrapped around her like it would do any good and had followed the creature about a block down. It would be another half a block or so before she found where she’d parked, though Susana did begin to wonder if maybe the creature knew that. How? She wasn’t sure, but most of her disbelief had gone out the window when she’d decided to follow this thing down the river and away from Colt. As she stared at it, she realized that the creature was limping. Actually, now that Susana really looked, the farther they walked down the riverbank, the more the creature seemed to falter in its step. It was still dark, though the rain had subsided for a bit, but she could...

New Sneak Peek of Post-Apocalyptic Writing Project

CW: danger, zombies, blood, animals in danger, guns . . . . . At around the middle hour, when the world outside was sleepy and far quieter now than either dog ever remembered, sudden clap-bangs echoed from just a few streets away. Benji’s and Indigo’s heads snapped up from their rest, hackles electrified. For several moments, the night fell silent once again. Benji nodded his tired head towards the back door, and together they exited slowly through the dog door into the brisk air outside. “Why are we out here?” Indigo asked, her thought-voice trailing into Benji’s head as the older dog aimed his age-greyed sniffer to the sky. “Let’s just… stay out here for now, by the trees.” His tail was unmoving, floppy ears perked to any movement and scampering sound around them. Indigo furrowed her tan brows, but nodded, following the elder. But after only a few moments of laying under the lemon tree, the dogs heard a soft, tapping, scurrying-like noise coming up from somewhere around the fr...

First Sneak Peek of New Post-Apocalyptic Writing Project

CW: danger, zombies, blood, guns . . . . . It didn’t take long for the other lumbering, strange-smelling humans to start running towards them too, and as Indigo looked to Mira for guidance, she could see tears welling at the corners of the human’s eyes. Suddenly, Mira stopped, backtracking a few steps as she came up to a building with bars across the front. She turned down the alley next to the building, and the dogs were right behind her as she found a door off to the side of said building. Indigo watched Mira tug on the door, but it didn’t budge, causing the human to scream in what the dog could only assume was frustration. Indigo watched Mira aim the object in her hands at the door then, shaking as the sounds of the strange humans grew closer, before the object clicked again. Indigo was sure she’d never heard such a noise in all her life. She’d heard similar sounds during the Loud Night, but they had been far, far away, adding to the dreaded ambiance of the unknown her and Benji had...

Fallon Excerpt

Hi folks!! As I've mentioned, I will occasionally post excerpts from my fantasy novel, Fallon . This excerpt comes from chapter 4, so it's still fairly early in the book. I hope you all enjoy!! And please feel free to ask questions in the comments 🖤 . . . . . Ianthe had never been particularly angry at the prince, even when he’d hurled some rather choice insults at her the last night they spoke. She’d learned at a very young age growing up with six brothers that reacting harshly in return only ended up worse for her. And if anything, she was surprised that he had enough backbone to attempt standing up to her and was grateful he didn’t have quite enough to realize her threats were close to empty. But she’d let him think she was angry to keep him from doing anything too rash, and so far, it seemed to be working. It was a risk to let him go into the forest so often, she knew he’d figure out the tricks sooner or later, but it kept him busy, and allowed her time to talk to Cassian ...

Working on New Er0tic Novella

Image
Hi everyone! I've been working on a new erotic novella as of late, and I'm hoping it'll be ready to publish on Amazon Kindle come mid-August. I won't be posting snippets of it here, as I want this blog to remain family friendly, but I do have snippets available on my Patreon , and will be posting the link when the novella is published and available. In the meantime, I'd like to show off the title and cover! As you'll probably notice, my works of erotica are under a pseudonym I go by: Azzie Leiker. You can find my other erotica stories on Amazon under that name as well!
